Sous une apparence pragmatique, la gestion constitue une idéologie qui légitime la guerre économique et l’obsession du rendement financier. Les ” gestionnaires ” installent en fait un nouveau pouvoir managérial. Il s’agit moins d’un pouvoir autoritaire et hiérarchique que d’une incitation à l’investissement illimité de soi dans le travail pour tenter de satisfaire ses penchants narcissiques et ses besoins de reconnaissance. Il s’agit d’instiller dans les esprits une représentation du monde et de la personne humaine, en sorte que la seule voie de réalisation de soi consiste à se jeter à corps perdu dans la ” lutte des places ” et la course à la productivité. Or, pour comme pour mieux assurer son emprise, cette logique déborde hors du champ de l’entreprise et colonise toute la société.

Google just granted itself the right to use your name and photo in its online ads

Sadly no surprise here.

While Google is opting all of its adult users into the scheme, it’s also providing a means of opting out. Users can decide whether or not to share their name and photo in Google’s “shared endorsements” setting. Given the likelihood that many people will never read the company’s updated terms of service, the change is bound to go unnoticed by many of Google’s users.

You’ve been warned.

What Is the Theory of Your Firm? – Harvard Business Review, June 2013 Edition: “If asked to define strategy, most executives would probably come up with something like this: Strategy involves discovering and targeting attractive markets and then crafting positions that deliver sustained competitive advantage in them.”

Key points: your corporate theory should be assessed against the three “sights”: Foresight, Insight and Cross-sight.

  1. Foresight: you understand what the customers want.
  2. Insight: you know what can me the difference internally (assets and activities).
  3. Cross-sight: You look into complementarity outside your current business for potential value creation.

The author is Todd Zenger. He uses the cases of the Walt Disney Company, Apple and Mittal Steel as good examples. He highlights AT&T as an example of a company that could not get its strategy together.
